Operation Christmas Child
This project from Samaritan’s Purse has been embraced by families at St. Brice’s Church for many years. Gift-filled shoeboxes are sent around the world to children who are suffering due to war, famine, natural disaster, poverty or neglect. There has always been a great response with approximately 50 shoeboxes prepared each Christmas.
Each Christmas, gifts collected through contributions from the parishioners for our program called the Cassellholme Tree are distributed to residents of the Cassellholme nursing home who are without family or close friends during the Christmas holidays
Each year St. Brice’s parishioners visit the elderly and shut-ins to sing carols and spread some Christmas cheer.
Blue Christmas’ Memorial Hymn Sing
At this annual event parishioners get together for an evening of song and music meant to honour the memories of departed loved ones. This event builds fellowship, and provides a measure of comfort to those who find themselves alone at Christmas.
December each year young volunteers at St. Brice’s serve the Church‘s Seniors a Christmas luncheon in the church hall, including turkey and all the trimmings. It is a blessing!
